To estimate yield gaps, the YPYGA platform utilizes geo-referenced primary data to the extent possible for climate, the best available data on soil properties, local expert agronomic knowledge of cropping systems and management, and official national data on current average farm yields. Yield gaps are estimated at three spatial scales: National scale, Climate Zone scale, and reference weather station scale (See methods).
